Hearing Schedules / Court Appearances

How to Schedule Traffic Court Appearances

If you have to go to traffic court, you must schedule your court appearance in advance. Same-day walk-ins are not available. You may reserve a court date:

  • online through the court's website,
  • in person at the Traffic Clerk's Office in South San Francisco, or
  • over the phone with a court clerk.

Reserve early as space is limited. Note that you do NOT have to deposit bail:

  • when asking for an arraignment hearing, or
  • when asking for a court trial at your arraignment.

Court Appearances with an Officer Present

You cannot reserve a court trial date through the court's website or over the phone if you want the officer to be present. You must make this request in person.

Refer to the How to Take Care of your Traffic Citation/Ticket section of our website for more information if you wish to plead not guilty without appearing in person.
