Mr. Pagano received his B.A. degree from Stanford University in 1970 and his J.D. degree from Santa Clara University in 1973. Since 1973 he has been admitted to the courts of the State of California, various District Courts of the United States, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Prior to founding Pagano & McKinney, LLP in 1980, Mr. Pagano served as senior Research Attorney for the San Mateo County Superior Court, and practiced with a well established San Mateo County firm in the areas of municipal law, construction and general civil litigation. Mr. Pagano's practice emphazises real estate and contruction related litigation, land use, and municipal law. He has represented property owners, developers, contractors, and design professionals in virtually every phase of the land development process from annexation, through zoning and acquisition of land use entitlements, construction, sale, and defect litigation. He has also represented the interests of numerous municipalities, special districts, and joint power authorities. Mr. Pagano is co-author of a California Judges' benchbook which is now in its tenth edition, and is a Judge Pro Tem of San Mateo County Superior Court. During the last several years Mr. Pagano has increasingly been called upon to serve as mediator, special master, arbitrator and judicial referee, and most of his practice is now devoted to those assignments. His fee for alternative dispute resolution services is $400.00 per hour, with not less than a four hour minimum. |
