Appropriate Dispute Resolution Programs
Welcome to the Appropriate Dispute Resolution (ADR) section of the San Mateo County Superior Court web site. The San Mateo County Superior Court’s ADR Program is called the “Multi-Option ADR Project” or “MAP,” for short.
More and more people and businesses are using ADR to resolve their legal problems. ADR is usually faster, cheaper and less stressful than going to court. ADR also lets people resolve their disputes in a more private environment. Some forms of ADR, such as mediation, give people the chance to shape mutually acceptable agreements and can provide an opportunity for people to settle their disputes.
